A note from our Founder on COVID-19
Dear meowfest community,
I’m writing to you today to provide you with information regarding what we at meowfest are doing in response COVID-19. First of all, I want to personally thank you for your ongoing support for our annual event. Your presence directly impacts each and every one of us here at meowfest and, as always, we appreciate you. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, attendees, partners and community are our number one priority.
Safety
We are following the recommendations of public health authorities to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We urge you to do the same and refer to reputable sources such as Health Canada, the WHO, and CDC.
Our People
I am committed to taking care of our employees, which includes doing our part in social distancing. Our entire team has been working at full capacity from home since Monday, March 16th, and will continue to do so indefinitely.
Our meowfest Community
We understand that many of you may be isolated at home and working remote. Across all our social media channels, our team will continue to provide the entertaining, uplifting cat content you’re familiar with. We encourage you to join our Facebook page as a place to share your cat photos with each other as we navigate through this together.
Customer Service
Our customer service team is dedicated and here for you. We promise to continue to deliver the same attentive and efficient care and service that you’ve come to expect from meowfest. All our channels of communication remain staffed and open. If you have questions regarding our event, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-866-308-MEOW (6369), email info@meowfest.com or message us on social media. We know that you are looking forward to meowfest 2020.
Tickets
We are currently monitoring updates from public health authorities regarding the impact on large events. At this time, any current events in British Columbia with over 50 people are required to be cancelled or postponed. If necessary, we plan to postpone meowfest 2020 to a later date, as opposed to cancelation. We have been in frequent contact with the Vancouver Sheraton Airport Hotel and they are aware and supportive of our plans to postpone if necessary. At this time, we are continuing to plan for meowfest 2020 as scheduled, on Saturday, August 1st. If any changes are required, we will issue full refunds to all ticket holders, vendors, and sponsors, upon request. PLEASE NOTE, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the next release of the General Admission ticket to Saturday April 25th, 2020 at 10am PST.
We are constantly monitoring this very fluid situation, and will keep you informed of any changes. I have an abundance of faith and pride that our cat community will fulfil our responsibilities to safeguard our most vulnerable members.
Sincerely,
Olivia Canlas
meowfest Founder and Director
