Meow, what a day! On a sunny Saturday, cat lovers from Vancouver and beyond came together to celebrate their shared love for all things feline at meowfest Vancouver! The event's resounding success could not have been possible without the support of our amazing sponsors, dedicated vendors, hardworking volunteers, informative presenters, friendly meet-and-greeters, and, of course, our wonderful attendees—truly the cat's meow!
This year, meowfest had an impressive lineup of over 50 vendors, offering a wide array of cat purrducts and services. Attendees had the opportunity to shop for everything from cat accessories, gourmet cat food, stylish cat apparel, and unique art prints to delicious food and beverages that kept them refreshed throughout the day. It was a purrfect paradise for shopaholic cat lovers!
We were thrilled that our friends from Healthy Shores made appearances at both meowfest Vancouver and Toronto! Did you get a chance to sample their products? Healthy Shores prides itself on using wild-caught fish as the primary ingredient in their offerings, sourced responsibly from the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean. One of the highlights of meowfest was our engaging scavenger hunt game. Attendees embarked on a thrilling quest to collect stamps by visiting vendors, attending workshops, and participating in various challenges. The prizes were nothing short of spectacular, including a pre-made catio courtesy of CatiOasis, valued at an impressive $4,500 CAD! Additionally, another lucky winner had the chance to win a gift certificate for their very own catio, valued at $4,000 CAD. It was a hunt for treasure that had everyone feline excited!
The event buzzed with excitement and free activities for all, from face painting to temporary tattoos, ensuring there was fun for everyone to enjoy. We were making sure every attendee had a "pawsome" time!
Our Speed Dating for Cat Lovers event, hosted by 25dates.com, was a resounding success, resulting in 10 heartwarming matches! Love was definitely in the air, and our attendees were feline the connection.
The stage was a focal point, drawing crowds to insightful discussions. Notable talks included one by Boundary Bay Hospital on feline emergencies, Alyssa's discussion on mental health, and Dr. Mansum's exploration of the mysteries of litter boxes.
Meow-walk, anyone? Attendees strutted their stuff on the catwalk, proudly displaying their most fabulous feline-inspired ensembles in our cat walk, presented by meowbox.
The Cat Daddy Panel was a major hit, with Cat Dads Michael Sheldrake, BenBen's dad Adam, and Cat Daddy Dan taking the stage to answer thought-provoking and entertaining questions posed by our founder, Olivia.
Thanks to the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS), attendees had the heartwarming opportunity to visit with cats and kittens, and many found their forever feline companions. We're delighted to report that 13 cats and kittens found loving homes at meowfest.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed fur to our gigantic fur ball. We're still working on adding the fur, and we're excited to share our progress pictures with you—talk about a "purrfectly" big project!
Of course, we couldn't forget our fantastic photo ops! Attendees had the chance to capture memories with the Vybe Cat Head, several cat cut-outs, the Furkin photobooth and even a human-sized cat tree.
